Not food

Looks like Hostess will be laying off 18,500 employees after striking Baker’s Union workers failed to reach an agreement with executives.  Considering the industrial garbage they sell as food, it’s shocking that they employed that many humans in this age of automation where machines could easily perform all the tasks required to produce something like a twinkie.

“Jobs” seem to be a sacred cow in the U.S.  No matter what kind of exploitive, mindless, socially destructive work you do, if it’s a “job” then we’re all supposed to bow down and worship and protect it.

This is a blessing in disguise.  Hostess has been serving up their fattening chemical junk food for ages, and now not only can consumers take this opportunity to find some healthier alternatives, but former employees can find something more socially beneficial to do with their labor.

So yeah, sorry ’bout your job, but why don’t you find one that doesn’t involve poisoning people next time?
